What is sex education?

What is sex education??? I'm sure most of us just know that it is an education that talk about sex and don't know the real meaning of it. Actually sex education is a difficult concept to define. There are a number of dimensions on which sex education could be defined. At the cognitive level, it can be defined as understanding human sexuality, especially human reproduction. At a more practical level, sex education might be defined as the preparation necessary for an individual's functional ability to control personal fertility successfully. Behaviorally this control would lead to avoiding social illness like unwanted pregnancies.

Thus, it is very important to implement sex education. But, in our country someone may raise the objection that sex education is not only difficult but dangerous to be given by parents or teachers since they themselves are not well informed or competent or qualified to do it. But the answer is that all married people know something about sex and a beginning should be made to break the vicious circle and this difficulty will disappear for the next younger generation, with as much sounder and franker attitude as possible toward sex built up in the present generation and which attitude will be rational, natural and sounder still in the subsequent generations.

For population control, therefore, parents and teachers have to educate the children who are the future parents, about the "how" of birth or the process of reproduction. In other words education about the functioning of the sex urge, has to be given at the proper time and discussions on sex should cover the entire technique of growing up and not only the narrower aspect. Healthy sex education is necessary for responsible parenthood.

To know more about sex education, i hope anyone of you can leave a comment to me so that i can explain more about it.

Introduction for our topic...

Hi...I am Lee Kuan Yee, you can call me as Lee and I am one of the members of this Sakura group. Like what my friend said we are discussing on the Importance of Sex Education in Preventing Social Ills topic. Since we are in eastern country-Malaysia, I'm sure when the people heard about sex, they will said 'aiya', 'hiss' and other silly sounds. Why they will give all these kind of expression? Is it because they don't know what is sex or is because they never heard this word before? The answer is 'NO'. They all know about sex but they just shy to talk about it and thus have the wrong opinion that sex is a sensitive issue. But if they think seriously, they will notice that actually nowadays most of the social ills are related to sex and this is also the reason why we choose this topic to discuss. Therefore, we hope all of you can join us in this discussion.

introduction for our assignment..

As i descirbe our blogsite, this is part of our assignment for "English for Social Science". Most probably we have the title of " The importance of sex education among youth in preventing social illness". We are still discussing on the topic and also the four questions that need to be discuss within this blog. The reason we choose this topic is because we know that in our society, not much people dare to speak about sex, even it's in a biology class. When somebody just touch about that issue, people will start to feel uncomfortable and shy, especially for the girls. I'm not balming on what we have now, but want to improve it and let more people know about sex education and the important thing is that talking about sex is not an illegal action. This is what we need to improve on. I hope this would be an interesting topic to discuss on. You are welcome to give any comment to our blog. Before i ended this post, i would like to introduce myself, I am Teoh En Wan from group "Sakura". You may call me En Wan but in this blog, my user name would be hermitt.
